CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
The Rebel Alliance’s starfighter corps was one of its greatest assets. There were nearly as many stories as there were pilots: Rebel starfighters were flown by Imperial defectors, reformed mercenaries, adventure-seeking farmboys, and daredevils who only truly felt alive in a cockpit. Regardless of their backgrounds, Rebel pilots learned to work together, relying on their wingmen as well as their training in countless battles against the Empire.

REQUIRED ITEMS
Orange Flight Suit
Required Details:
- Orange medium-to-heavy weight matte fabric with no sheen one-piece flight suit/coveralls. Heavy cotton twill recommended.
- Flight suit has a front zipper that is hidden by a strip of the same material as the flight suit that is approximately 2.5 cm (1″) wide
- Flight suit is void of visible zippers or snaps.
- Mandarin-style collar with pointed tab closure, closing from wearer’s left to right with the exposed tab extending to the right side of the neck.
- Code cylinder pocket on outside of the wearer’s upper middle left arm, centered to the shoulder seam with slots for 5 code cylinders. Pocket is rectangular, width is a bit over 12.5 cm (5″) with seams between code cylinders 2.5 cm (1″) apart, height is slightly taller than the width by approx. 2.5 cm (1″)
- Comm pad pocket is on the outside of wearer’s left forearm above the wrist, centered to the shoulder seam and placed approximately halfway between the wrist and elbow. Open window is large enough for most of comm pad to be visible, border approx. 2.5 cm (1″) around all sides around window.
- Rectangular pocket with a rectangular flap closure on upper-middle of wearer’s right arm, centered to the shoulder seam. Width is nearly the width of arm if lying flat, height is taller than the width by a couple inches.
- Flight suit has two upper thigh pockets with curved openings, one on each leg, positioned close to the outer side seam of pant leg. Width is approx. ¾ the width of the pant leg lying flat, height is taller than width by a couple inches.
- Flight suit has two middle thigh pockets with rectangular flap closures, one on each leg, positioned immediately below upper thigh pockets and similarly close to outer side seam of pant leg. Width is the same as width of upper thigh pockets, height is taller than width by approx. 2.5 cm (1″)
- All rectangular flap closures have a height that covers the top ¼ height of the pocket.
- Flight suit pant legs are tucked into boots and bloused over the top.
Optional Details:
- There is a horizontal seam or double-topstitched line on the front of the flight suit that runs across the upper chest.
- There are two vertical seams or double-topstitched lines that run from the upper chest (horizonal seam) to waist seam centered on each side of the chest
Mandarin-style collar closes with Velcro. - Cuffs close similar to the Mandarin-style collar with Velcro.
- There is a shoulder gusset in the back on each side.
- Top and bottom portions of the flight suit are connected with an approximately 5 cm (2″) wide strip of material the same as the flight suit that wraps around the flight suit. This fabric has slight ruching in the back.
- There are two chest pockets with a height starting at approximately center on the chest and extending to the waist, and width from the center of either side of the chest and wrapping around the sides of the torso with curved openings, one on each side.
- Flight suit has two pockets on wearer’s shins with rectangular flap closures, one on each leg, positioned similarly close to outer side seam of pant leg as upper and middle thigh pockets. Width and height measurements matches the middle thigh pockets.

Code Cylinders (Arm Tools)
Required Details:
- 2-4 Code Cylinders are worn in left shoulder pocket with 3 being most common
- Code Cylinders are silver metal or a material that is finished with a silver metal-like appearance
- Code Cylinder shank is approximately 8.25 cm (3.25″)
- Code Cylinder heads have a flaring disc detail at top that is approximately 19 mm (¾”)

Flak Vest
Required Details:
- Flak vest consists of a front and back panel made of a white material (ballistic nylon or similar fabric)
- Flak vest is proportional to the wearer
- Flak vest is contoured to fit over the chest and back where the two panels are of a similar shape and size
- Font and back panels are connected at the top by shoulder straps approximately 5 cm (2″) wide that extend over the shoulders with strap length to properly position the flak vest
- Shoulder straps are sewn in place to the inside of the flak vest panels,
- Front and back panels connect at the bottom sides with straps of approximately 2.5 cm (1″) webbing similar in color to the vest using a silver “press-release thumb clip” style buckle on each side of the vest and sit approximately 7.5 cm (3″) below the armpit
- Female half of the connector buckle is sewn to edge of the front panel
- Male end of the connector buckle is sewn to the end of the strap and continues back under the arms to pass through a track sewn on the back panel
- Left and right straps meet in the center and are adjusted with a black “strap adjuster” style buckle.
- The excess strap lengths are either trimmed to length or tucked into the track to present a neat appearance.
- Bottom of front and back panels are approximately even
- Front and back panels cover approximately half of the torso with significant flight suit visible between the belt and panels
- Front and back panels have a series of horizontal ribs created by inserting 6.5 mm (¼”) tubing (or similar sized material) through fabric tubes prepared for the tubing.
- Ribs are separated from each other by a space that is the same width as a finished rib
- Ribs on the front and back panels stop approximately 2.5 cm (1″) from each side
- Front Panel Details:
- Front panel is worn with the top of the panel at the base of the collar
- Front panel has 2 equally spaced rib at the top (near the collar)
- Immediately below the two top ribs, there is a flat wide area (“The Gap”) with approximately 8 horizontal rows of top stitching that are approximately 6.5 mm (¼”) apart, for a total of approximately 5 cm (2″) of flat area
- Remainder of front panel contains 8-9 ribs that continue to the bottom edge of the front panel
- Back Panel Details:
- Back panel is worn approximately 5 cm (2″) below the collar
- Back panel has approximately 13-14 equally spaced ribs at the top
- Immediately below the 13-14 top ribs, there is a gap approximately 3 cm (1.25″) with a track for webbing that is open in the center showing approximately 10 cm (4″) of webbing where the webbing connects with a black “strap adjuster” style buckle.
- There are 2 ribs below the track
Optional Details:
- Shoulder straps have rows of horizontal topstitching approximately 6.5 mm (¼”) covering the entire strap from front to back

Chest box
Required Details:
Note: All direction descriptions of the chest box are when looking at the box from from the front.
- Grey rectangular box made of a hard, smooth material that is approximately 18.5 cm (7.25″) tall and 14.5 cm (5.75″) wide
- Top of box has a white, hollow, flat disk (washer), approximately 15 mm (0.6″) in diameter
- Left side of box has a black vertical rectangle with small vertical rectangle cutout on the left side
- Black vertical rectangle has a white 3.2 mm (⅛”) pinstripe border off center to the right
- Black rectangle has 2 raised acrylic or similar material 2.5 cm (1″) square buttons at the top inside the pinstripe that match an approved color scheme
- Black rectangle has a metal or metal-like silver round disc with cone knob, approximately 2.5 cm (1″) in diameter, centered vertically on the black rectangle and off center to the right horizontally
- Rectangle has a metal or metal-like male silver snap, approximately 12.5 mm (½”) in diameter, just below the knob and to the left horizontally
- Chest box has a white 3.2 mm (⅛”) pinstripe square approximately ¼ of the box in the upper right corner
- Square has 3 raised acrylic or similar material 2.5 cm (1″) square buttons in the top left, top right, and bottom right quadrants that match an approved color scheme
- There are 3 rocker switches below the square
- The rockers are white, grey, white OR grey, white, grey
- Outside rockers have a black dot centered on the top portion of the rocker
- Middle rocker has a black dot centered on the bottom portion of the rocker
- Rocker switches have separation between them
- There are 2 channels in the grey box below the outside switches
- There is a ribbed grey hose approximately 2.5-3 cm (1–1.25″) diameter that attaches at the left-bottom of the box with the other end connected to the wearer’s flight suit in an approved configuration with a black elbow joint
- Chest box is secured around the collar and the back with olive webbing straps
- Strap around the collar is void of fasteners and connects to the chest box at the top corners
- Strap around the back has a silver “strap adjuster” style buckle approximately centered on the wearer’s back
- Strap around the back is worn over the flight harness
- Chest box is worn with the top of the box aligning with bottom of “The Gap” with the bottom strap around the back passing along the bottom or just below the front flak vest panel
- Excess strap is either trimmed or otherwise tucked to present a neat appearance
Optional Details:
- Strap around the back has a screen accurate silver Roko Buckle
- Three flat white squares on the top of the raised portion top of the chest box, approximate 6.5×6.5 mm (.25″x.25″). Starting from the left side of the raised portion of the top of the chest box: 2 squares next to each other with a 3 mm (⅛”) gap between them and the third square with more space after it to right end of the raised portion of the top of the chest box.
Hose Attachment Configurations:
- Option 1: Hose connects to the wearer’s left side of the suit just below the flak vest
- Other hose attachment configurations will be accepted with a reference photo during submission with noted source of the photo
Chest Box Color Schemes:
- Option 1
- Black rectangle has 2 raised white acrylic square buttons
- Square has 3 acrylic square buttons with white in top left, and blue on the right top and bottom
- Other Chest Box color schemes will be accepted with a canon reference photo during submission and noted source of the photo

Comm Pad
Required Details:
Note: All direction descriptions of the comm pad are when looking at it from the front.
- Rectangular communications pad with four rows of buttons and detailing on a white background that match an approved color scheme
- Top row has two raised areas: Left is a horizontal white rectangle approximately 1/2 of the width with 2 smaller raised or inset rectangles that match a color scheme, right has two identically sized squares.
- Second row from the top has three raised areas: Left and middle are 2 identically sized white squares that together fill approximately ½ of the comm pad width, both squares have a raised cross with a dot in the center, right is a rectangle approximate ½ the comm pad width matching a color scheme
- Third row from the top has two raised rectangular areas: Left has a raised outline with cross pattern in the middle with a dot matching a color scheme, right is white rectangle with patterned holes on top
- Bottom row of pad has four raised vertical rectangles matching a color scheme
- Comm pad is worn visible inside the comm pad pocket with approximately ¼ of the comm pad inside the glove gauntlet.
- Comm pad is oriented with the four vertical buttons closest to the wrist
Note: Photo of all buttons must be provided with submission if not visible in standard photos.
Optional Details:
- Comm pad is contoured slightly to fit the arm.
- Top row of comm pad buttons may be inside the comm pad pocket and not visible.
Comm Pad Color Schemes:
• A New Hope Color Scheme
- Top row: Left rectangle has 2 raised or inset grey rectangles, right squares are white
- Second row: Left and middle squares have a red dot, right rectangle is grey
- Third row areas: Left raised outline, cross, and dot are black
- Bottom row: Four rectangles from left to right are red, grey, grey, grey
• Return of the Jedi Color Scheme
- Top row: Left rectangle has 2 raised red rectangles, two squares are white and grey from left to right.
- Second row: Left and middle squares have a red dot, right rectangle is red
- Third row areas: Left raised outline is white dot is red
- Bottom row: Four rectangles from left to right are red, black, grey, black

Gloves
Required Details:
- Black gauntlet gloves with leather or leather-like material
- Cuff of the gauntlet has a flared appearance when worn

Flight Harness
Required Details:
- Harness is made of silver gray webbing that is approximately 5 cm (2″) wide
- Front and back harness straps extend up the torso under the flak vest with the attachment hidden by the flak vest
- The lower part of the harness falls(or loop) just below the inseam (or crotch area)
- Two loops of strapping are connected to the front-back strapping at the lowest part of the front-back loop and loop around each leg, drooping no lower than the knees

Belt
Required Details:
- Belt is made of silver gray webbing that is approximately 5 cm (2″) wide and the same as the harness
- Belt is closed with a 5 cm (2″) silver/gray roll pin (British roll pin) style belt buckle that is centered
- Free end of the belt is looped around the slide so that the excess belt is on the inside of the belt and secured
- Left and right sides of the belt contain 6 vertical webbing loops for mini belt flares with both sets visible when facing front
- The webbing loops are either the same or slightly darker in color compared to the belt
- Belt is worn over the front/back harness strap
- Belt sits at the waist over the optional fabric casing that joins the top and bottom parts of the flight suit (if present)

Leg Flares with Holder
Required Details:
- Flare holder is made of olive drab or black canvas or similar material approximately 10 cm (4″) tall and long enough to fit around the leg just above the visible portion of the boot
- Running the center of the holder is a thinner strap of the same material sectioned off into 8 loops
- Each holder loop contains a leg flare
- Holder loops are spaced equidistant around the leg
- Leg flares are silver metallic in appearance and may be made of metal or wood painted to appear as metal
- Leg flares are approximately 10 cm (4″) tall
- Leg flares can be worn on either leg
- Leg flare holder is positioned with the bottom edge resting on the top of the visible portion of the boot so there is no gap between the flare holder and the top of the boot

Boots
Required Details:
- Leather or leather-like pull-on style “Engineer”, “Jack”, “cavalry”, or “riding” boots (may require the flight suit bloused sufficiently to make the boots appear shorter)
- Visible height of the boots reach approximately to the bottom of the wearers calf
- Boots are largely unadorned with no visible embossed or painted branding
- Boots have a wide, rounded toe in the style of a military jack boot
- Boots have low heels, approximately 2.5 cm (1″) tall
- Boots are void of visible laces, buckles, straps, or other ornamentation
- Boots are void of visible front and outside zippers or other large vertical seams
Optional Details:
- Boots may have a black zipper hidden or on the inside of the boot
- Small buckle at top edge of boot allowed

Face Character
Required Details:
- Helmet with paint scheme matching authentic quality to include details and weathering to face character
- All optional costume items match face character (ex. number of code cylinders, belt flares, etc)
- Weathering matches face character costume
- Hair and other unique features match face character

X-wing Pilot Helmet
Required Details:
- Helmet has a Mohawk design and raised side panels
- Mohawk has a trapezoidal cap on the front with universe related design
- Helmet has an amber or grey translucent visor lens covering the eyes this is fixed or movable
- Helmet has a white chin cup held in place with a black elastic strap that is threaded through the chin cup and secured to the inside of the helmet
- Helmet has black weather stripping around the “ears” and neck borders
- Helmet is void of visible buttons or covers that are not present in reference photos
- Helmet style, décor, pinstriping, and paint scheme fits in the Star Wars universe
- Helmet is void of modern-world or other sci-fi-fantasy genre images
- Helmet is proportional to the wearer
Optional Details:
- If submission includes a face character helmet paint scheme, it must be submitted as a face character with all accompanying costume details and the helmet must be of authentic quality to include details and weathering.
- Helmet has a solid gray or white boom mic shaft with a black mic
- Helmet has dark tan earcups
- Other schemes or details will be accepted with a reference photo during submission
Note: Helmet must be approved prior to use at any Rebel Legion event
Mini Belt Flares
Required Details:
- Metallic, silver appearance cylinders that are approximately 5.5 cm (2.25″) tall and are slightly longer than the width of the belt
- Cylinders are approximately 6.5 mm (¼”) in diameter
- Cylinders are made of metal or other materials that, when finished, have a metallic silver appearance
- Belt may contain a mix of filled and empty slots with a minimum of 2 flares on each side if flares are present

• This version of pilots are not seen with blasters or holsters so they are not part of the official standard. These items should not be submitted with your application and will require photos without these items for roster photo and to clearly view all costume parts. Local leadership may allow Luke’s Snowspeeder holster and DL-44 or DH-17 blasters for local troops.

For Face Characters: Tattoos and body piercings – No tattoos or body piercings may be visible unless it is a tattoo/piercing the character has. They must be covered with makeup or by the costume.
