Who We Are
The Rebel Legion is a Star Wars-based costuming fan club. The Rebel Legion’s members create and wear costumes of the hero characters from the Star Wars saga, which includes but is not limited to the six films, comics, books, games, and television shows based on the Star Wars saga.
Much like the Rebellion in the Star Wars movies, an alliance of rebel customers first appeared in mid-1999; thanks to a handful of brave individuals who responded to the rise of the 501st and wanted to celebrate the heroes of the Star Wars saga. In January of 2000, The Rebel Legion was officially founded by Tony Troxell (LCO), Richard Fairbrother (LXO), Doug Fesko, and Ed O'Connell. By 2001, Rebel Legion had multiplied in numbers and launched its website and message boards. Although started in the United States, the Legion is now an international club that encompasses multiple nations worldwide and has become the premier Rebel costuming group in the Star Wars community.
Since the Legion’s inception, it has been a volunteer club of costume enthusiasts who can enjoy, express, and share their interest in costuming with others in the fan community. The members of the Legion hold no rights to these characters and recognize it is a privilege to wear these costumes. The Legion also acknowledges that while in costume we represent the characters of the Star Wars universe and as such accept the responsibility to behave professionally and civilly while in public. This Charter serves to define what the Legion is, and what it shall be, and to set down guidelines for the operations within this costume group.
