Star Wars LARP INTEREST?

For those of you that arent familiar,

Larp stands for

Live
Action
Role
Playing

Generally larp is played in a fantasy sword and sorcery setting.

But I was thinking, star wars is basically a fantasy set in space, wouldnt a star wars larp be fun!! Plus we all allready have costumes and props to use.

In standard larp you use foam padded swords for full contact combat, or latex coated realistic looking weapons for touch combat.

For lightsaber combat we could do touch combat and use our standard sabers with polycarbonate blades, maybe make eye protection mandentory just in case. And then for blasters use repainted nerf weapons, or low velocity airsoft.

Settings, northern california offers a very nice range of natural enviorenments, wooded, sparse, beaches, even desserts if the charecters have a reason to travel to "tatoine" or a desert world.

Basically right now what im looking for is an idea of how many people would be interested in a star wars larp, the setting would be old republic. If the interest is there I will take the standard sw role playing game and adapt the rules to a LARP system. I would say we will need around 10-20 people for an enjoyable game, that way we can rotate out people playing charecters and npc's. I think so, and the games will be free for everyone, and you there will be chances to find loot *props* every game, im a saber smith and prop builder so I can guarantee it will be cool stuff.

As airsoft players, my sons and I would be interested as either RL or imperials. I don't know about low velocity airsoft, but either way, you'd have to have eye protection.

I'm personally not into Role playing games, but I think if you keep it safe, it sounds like a fun thing to organize with those who want to participate. Smile

Don't you guys like wearing your aswesome star wars costumes? Dont you guys like making little back stories for your charecters? Dont you like playing with your lightsabers and props?

This would have all of that, plus free addmission, 200.00-500.00 of free product give aways at each game, the chance to meet other sw fans and have a bunch of fun. Cmon guys there has to be more than just one of you on here.
