I checked the measurements and that's my flak vest that's done.
Helmets are almost ready for painting too (ben ) _________________

I've been remiss in updating this... our helmets are ready to be painted and in Ben's hands for such now... Our flight suits are in production at this moment, and one of our vests is on hand and the other is on the way... _________________

OK, so the final flight suit isn't done, but we did a 'temp' one that's probablly not good enough for RL standards quite yet but hopefully is good enough for the picture deadline for SW in Concert But since we had to take pictures, I wanted to post them up for feedback... since it's just for pictures, it's quite litterally held together with duct tape and saftey pins, so there's still some room to redo anything before the 'final' version... let us have it!

hate to be nitpicky but that's just the way I am.
first off, collar comes to a point in the crossover
I think it's a requirement that you have at least some buckle on the waist belt and it's a bit loose
I think you're supposed to have the right buckle on the sides of the flack vest
I think your magnet on the tube is a bit low
everything else looks okay in my book. _________________

Well, like I said the flightsuit is just a stand in, a custom one is on the way.. but there IS a point on the color, it's just not showing up welll in the pictures... the side that looks loose is actually where it should be sewed down (not velcro) but it's not since this was a quick and dirty mock up.
The belt buckle is 'in process', my supplier didn't come though in time, so we just saftey pinned it for the picture
The vest side buckles are 'optional' last time I checked but I do have the part, I just havent' sintalled them (we had to get SOMETHING taken of her for SWIC.
And the tube end will be better places on the final flight suit, I plan to sew a pocket inside with a metal plate... here the metal plate is quite litterally taped to her skin
But that's what I was going for here, mostly looking for feedback on the 'fit and sizing of the parts, especially the vest, strapping, and non-suit stuff. Thanks! _________________

We submitted Sarah's pilot last night (can't seem to find them on her flickr now, but they're on my FB) after getting the new flightsuit in solidifying up the leg straps. Wish us luck... _________________

Good Luck Sarah!
Sorry I don't have your helmet all finished yet. I will get some pics of the progress to you asap, and try to work out when/how I can get it to you. =) _________________

We've still got your shirt hostage remember I need to get you my design too (I have an idea in my head, I just can never seem to get motivated to put it on paper), as our next project is going to be to get my chest box finished as my flight suit is in the works now... _________________

| I just bought an xwing helmet the other day so I'm starting on a pilot costume here slowly. Hope to finally have a jedi done in the next week before I leave for CV. Been a bit of a cluster getting it together. Hopefully the pilot costume will go a lot smoother. |

Rich, you need anything, I'm fresh off finding pilot parts, hit me up for any info and whatnot...
I haven't touched 'new' costuming stuff in months. supposedly my flightsuit is under construction, and I need to make myself get my helmet design to the painter. I'm probably not going to do a lot until I do a little Harry Potter project for the release of Deathly Hallows Pt. 1. But I dont' have time to work on ANY costuming stuff 'til we do some stuff to get our house decluttered and cleaned a little more to help get it sold - I'm hoping to make a dent in that this weekend (first 'free' weekend in over a month it is). _________________

| Will do. I'm just getting started on it all. I have a couple places I've seen that have a lot of the stuff I'll need. There were some parts that came with the helmet too, but I forget what and the pictures are gone off the rpf since its sold. Guess I'll see when it gets here. It will be later in the year until I have the funding to get a jumpsuit made and the rest of the parts. Seems to be harder to come across a helmet so I jumped at it. I have a pair of harley boots that have to straps on them one low and one high with a regular buckle. They aren't harness boots and come up pretty close to the knee. Think those would work for the xwing pilot boots? I'm using them as well on my new republic jedi, but with added anakin spats. I'll have to get a picture of them. |

I'd want to see pictures before I comment, but generally Jedi boots are too tall for pilots. I suppose it might be OK if you blouse the leg over the top of the boots on the non-flare holder side, and then cover the top with the flare holder on the other side... I'm not sure that'd work or not, but it might be worth a shot... _________________

I actually have a shorter pair of leather boots as well, but they are harness boots. I know they frown upon those for jedi, but any more forgiving with a pilot? I can always get another pair, but will take longer to make the costume to adjust for boot cost. I'll get some pics of the taller pair and shorter pair. |

We'll be able to tell you once you post pics, but generally the pilot boots run 11" - 13" high. Straps and buckles are a no-go unless you can hide them with blousing or flare holders. _________________ Jon Paulson • Maj. Tag "HazardThree" Greenly
